Support Us
Our library is a non -profit 501-3(c). We operate primarily on donations and grants, supplemented by funds from the city and county. Book donations can be made in honor or in memory of an individual. Used books, videos, audio books, and DVDs that are in mint or near mint condition are gladly accepted as donations. We at J.R. Huffman Public Library greatly appreciate all donations, monetary and otherwise.
The Theater
The Dr. W.T. Arnold, Sr. Theater is a wonderful part of the library facility and is dedicated to and named after long-time resident, Dr. William Thomas Arnold, Sr., who was the town physician for many years. Dr. Arnold died in 1937, and a generous donation from his children supplemented the funding for the theater.
Board Meetings
The Board of Directors meets on the second Monday of each month at noon. The public is invited to attend. The board meetings will take place in the conference room at the library.
Special Hours
In addition to our regular hours, we are also open on the 2nd Saturday of every month from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. On that same day, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00p.m., we will have board games to play with the whole family as well as Legos for the little ones. To participate, we ask that you make a monetary donation of your choice*. Any amount will be greatly appreciated! Proceeds go directly toward the purchase of new books.
Note: Donations are not required to participate, but are nonetheless appreciated.
